I really would've liked this app but every couple of seconds there is a short break in the ambient noise where it loops over and that short break is really distracting.

You could ask the assistant to set an alarm with a song. Then state whatever calm piece of music you'd like to use as the alarm. If you ask for tea timer for 4 minutes, the end is different than a normal timer. I haven’t encountered other ones but this one is much less annoying.
Having the timer frees our mind from the thought of time. We no longer think the thoughts, ¨Have I reached the time I was shooting for? When you do think of Time you can tie off a knot on the thought and place it aside, for it is already taken care of with your timer.
